This short course focuses on the sources we can use to understand the people, buildings, trades and transport of Bolton and district.  Initially, we’ll be looking at the messages that placenames and surnames bring from the distant past. We’ll discover the parish and township boundaries of the area and be using source material to discover how these areas were administered. Learning will be informal, practical . . . and fun!
